Anti-Dentite

We brought Arthur for his first teeth cleaning at our new dentist this week, and he did amazing. He was not at all anti-dentite like he was for our last dentist, last time he barely even let them count his teeth. This time he had them counted, cleaned, fluoride applied, and walked away with a new toothbrush and toothpaste that he thinks is "too sour" (his standard complaint of anything he doesn't like the taste of).

Before the appointment, we killed some time at the aquarium store next door! Then we waited "patiently" in the waiting room.

And what else is there to do afterward but go for ice cream? (A full 30 minutes after the fluoride treatment of course)

A few days later I took the boys to the mall to escape the heat. It was our first 40 degree day and it was sweltering! Thank goodness for air conditioned mall fun though! I took Arthur aside a little (Felix was in the stroller) and asked him if he wanted to pick out a birthday card and gift for Felix, but I told him we had to keep it a secret from Felix until his birthday. His reaction took me a little by surprise, he was SO excited to be able to get Felix a card and a gift, and keeping it secret apparently made it face meltingly exciting…sorry for the blur, he was jumping around too fast for me to get a good picture!

After the best time I've ever seen anyone have in a Hallmark Cards store, we moved on to the rides section, which was also pretty exciting.

Then Felix took the lead, he told Arthur "Ar-tur, hand!" and then took off.

Next stop was the fountains of course. Arthur asked for some "monies" to throw in there, and both boys got to make some wishes. Little did they know that they might have been throwing some of the last of my pennies in the water, since they've been discontinued as a currency ;)

Unfortunately, we woke up this morning with Felix's tummy sporting some suspicious looking red bumps. He's had his chicken pox vaccine, but it's not 100% effective at preventing. After bringing him to the doctor (Dr. Bastedo, funnily enough) we were told they were 70% sure it was the pox, and to just keep an eye on it and continue with life as usual. He's since developed a few more spots, so it's pretty much guaranteed that it's chicken pox and not bug bites, though Travis's cousin Jennifer gave me a way to distinguish the pox from bug bites, apparently if you give a little children's benedryl it will reduce the inflammation of bug bites but won't touch pox. Seems like a good tip, thanks Jennifer!

And now for the video portion of our program…I always forget to put these in when I'm actually writing, but here they are! First up is Felix amusing himself while waiting for Arthur to come home from school, he likes to "fwy" (fly) around the bus stop park area:

And next is a video of Arthur playing Mario Tennis with me. I absolutely love his facial expressions while he plays, it's so funny!

A big game around here (still) is pretending to sleep. It's achieved a whole new level of hilarity with the advent of fake snoring:

And last but not least, the boys and I were "those" people who pressed every button on the singing toys at Zellers. Though nobody complained about it once the boys started dancing ;)
