Present Day:
I know everyone says this, but it’s because it hits you so hard and it’s so true, but I can’t believe my baby is one year old today!
So what did we do to celebrate? We stuck him with needles! Poor guy, it was his 12 month check up and vaccinations this morning! Arthur got his chicken pox vaccine too, so afterwards we went for ice cream. Turns out, Felix does not like ice cream. We brought them to DQ thinking to get Arthur a blizzard, but every time we asked him what he wanted, he would say “ice cream” But what do you want on your ice cream? Candy? Chocolate? Caramel? “just…ice cream” Fair enough, plain vanilla soft serve, he takes after his mommy ;)
We opened family presents today. A big thank you to Grandma, Nana and Grandpa, and Auntie Cindy :) Your gifts were much appreciated, and well played with today, mostly by Arthur, but Felix held his own and tried out everything!
The big hit of the day was the water table. On the plus side, my kitchen floor is veeeery clean now that it’s been soaked and mopped multiple times today. Both boys went through several outfit changes before my brain turned on and I finally let them play just in their undies/diaper.
We spent the rest of the day playing with Grandma at the park, lots of sun, running around, and fresh air. Just enough to tire out both boys (and me!) for an early bedtime. It was really about as perfect as it gets!
