Aftermath

The boys each got a $50 gift card from my Dad for christmas, so we took them out shopping for their first boxing day. We went to Future Shop first, for Travis' gift, a wireless wifi adaptor for his desktop so that we wouldn't have an ethernet cable running across the living and dining room floors anymore. Arthur, of course, wanted to go look at the video games. Despite the fact that he got more video games than he can play for christmas, he wanted to buy the new Skylanders game. We talked him out of buying anything until after we had visited Toys-R-Us so that he wouldn't have any regrets. Turned out that was good advice, as the game was on sale for a better price at Toys-R-Us! After spending a lot of time walking through the store and looking at everything, he finally decided that what he wanted was the Skylanders: Giants game. We talked him into buying it for the PS3 so that he could play it on the tv, and thank goodness we did, it seems to be much easier for him to manage than the Skylanders game he has on his DS. The portal works much better as well.

Felix was still feeling sick, but definitely enjoyed looking at all the toys. He wore a Yoshi backpack around the store for a long time, but discarded it in favour of a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse play set. He's played with it every day since, it's a contender for favourite toy right up there with his new pirate ship. Disney Junior toys are the way to go for him apparently!

And I got to play with my favourite toy from christmas as well, a nail polish stamp set that Travis got for me! I absolutely love it :)

And, because I always find lost videos that I meant to add to earlier blogs, here are some videos. First up, Travis has been watching NFL with the boys more and more often. Travis gets so worked up during these games that his enthusiasm is contagious for the boys and they love watching with him. He's been teaching them the proper way to react to a Pittsburgh Steelers first down as well as a touchdown.

And back to the TMNT obsession, Arthur and Felix show off their ninja moves. We've talked to Arthur about maybe taking a martial arts class to learn more ninja moves, but he insists that he knows all the real ninja moves.
