Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Now that December is here it's time to prepare for Santa! The boys are about halfway though their Lego Star Wars advent calendars (I highly recommend!) and loving them. Felix tries to convince me daily that we forgot to open that day's and we should open a new one. But the first order of business was to write letters to Santa.

I obviously helped the boys by writing for them, but they both signed their own names this year! We mailed the letters out to Santa Claus, North Pole, HOH OHO, Canada ;) Shortly after mailing them, the boys received video emails from Santa and his elves! Next up was finding our christmas tree! This year we decided to try out Benjamin Tree Farm again, though it's been two years since we last went there. They've since moved locations and this was a pretty epic fail. There was whining, tears, and absolutely no christmas trees that we felt would be nice enough. The only one who was happy about the excursion was Felix.

This probably makes me an awful parent, but I can't help but laugh at this photo of a disgruntled Arthur. He might as well be standing at the top of the stairs in pink bunny pyjamas!

Felix was just happy to run around in the snow!

Everyone was relieved when we called it quits and headed back to the van. Off to Lowes to buy a pre-cut tree!

Felix gets very concerned when Arthur isn't happy, so when Arthur cheers up he's very interested. Looking at these pictures I can practically hear him piping "Arthur are you happy?? He's happy now!!"

I think we found a good tree this year. It's definitely one of the best we've ever had! The presents are already outrunning the space under the tree, but part of that is from the fact that we wrapped a bunch of small things for the boys in giant boxes this year. They're very excited :)

Of course, the kids aren't the only ones excited about the tree. Lando has been hiding in, playing under and munching on the tree since we brought it home. Luckily he doesn't climb it or it might tip!

The boys were very excited to go see Santa, so we went Monday afternoon as early as we could manage! Felix asked for a new Vader or course, but when Santa asked Arthur what he wanted, Arthur froze under pressure! He ummmm'ed and hmmmmm'ed until Santa suggested Arthur write him a letter when he figured it out ;) Felix looked pretty awkward in this photo despite being very excited to meet Santa. Fortunately he talked me into an impromptu return to see Santa when he and I were at the mall. This time we got a much better smile!
