We are in the process of packing up to move. Not that that is a surprise to anyone ;) So in the interests of moving the least amount of stuff possible, we’re trying to use up as much stuff as we can. I baked little cakes from a cake mix for no reason, just to get rid of it (what? Of course that’s the real reason I baked it!) We’ve been raiding the freezer for meals practically every day, turns out Travis is a sausage hoarder! We have five packages of six sausages each still in the freezer, with only 9 days left until we move out. And we’ve had bbq sausages at least once a week for the past month!
Anyway, aside from eating piles of meat from the deep freeze, we’ve been trying to reduce the amount of other stuff we’re going to have to move too. So with that in mind, we counted out all of the change in Arthur’s piggy bank (bumblepig to be exact) and brought him to toysrus!
He was pretty excited. We wandered up and down the aisles of toysrus for a while, with $20 in change in Travis’ pocket, looking for the perfect toy. It was adorable to see all the thought Arthur put into considering each potential toy. He looked at all of the toys with new eyes, trying to figure out which toy would be worth spending *his* money on.
We eventually made it all the way around the store and wound up back at the Cars 2 display. He definitely wanted a Cars 2 toy. But when we explained how much each cost, instead of getting one toy that talked and lit up, he picked out three little die cast cars. He was very frugal, and got three toys instead of one big one. We now have a Sarge, Raoul CaRoul, and Jeff Gorvette. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, all kids toys should have the character names stamped on there somehow. It’s hard to remember all the wonky names of these cars!
