Disney World-Epcot

On our fourth day at Disney world, we visited Epcot. Our day at Epcot happened to occur on the first day of the 20th annual flower and garden festival. Which meant that the park was littered with Disney themed topiaries. Corny as it might sound, the topiaries were actually kind of amazing.

Our first stop was the Finding Nemo ride. It was top of our list, plus it was indoors and warm. Which was key at 8am and 10C. Felix found the ride too scary, which was the theme for him. Anything indoors and dark was too scary. Anything outside and bright was totally fine. The exception being It's a Small World. After the ride, we came out into a giant aquarium with fish, dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, sting rays, and sharks. The boys were very impressed. So impressed that we stuck around for the feeding display.

At first, Epcot didn't seem to have a lot available for kids. But as we kept walking through the park, we kept finding little displays and playgrounds for the kids. They absolutely *loved* Epcot!

The boys were very excited to meet Tinkerbell. She told them all about her pixie hollow band where she plays the leaf guitar. They were enthralled.

In the Japan pavilion we wandered into a store that centred around an oyster tank. For a fee (of course) you could choose an oyster, they would shuck it for you, and you would get to keep the pearl inside. It was such a cool experience that I couldn't resist. It didn't hurt that the lady in front of me chose an oyster with a rare blue pearl in it! I had Travis and Arthur choose an oyster, and it had a lovely pinkish-white pearl in it that I had set into a pretty pendant. I really love it!

Epcot turned out to be a wonderful place for fantastic food and lots of different sights to see. Each different pavilion seemed really true to the country it was supposed to represent. With the exception of Canada. All they had there was some buildings, a waterfall, and a red British style phone booth. It didn't seem very Canadian at all.
