I knew there was a reason why I hate fall. This is the third illness to hit me in about 4 weeks or so. Arthur had it for a day, so I have high hopes of kicking it quickly as well. But really the important thing would be for Felix to get better quickly. There's nothing quite so miserable as a stuffed up baby. Luckily Travis got to work from home today starting at 4am, so he was done work around 12:30pm and took Arthur so that Felix and I could have a nice 3 hours nap. Of course Felix only slept that long because I sucked his brains out through his nose with one of those nasal aspirator bulbs and dosed him with baby Tylenol. But it was a great nap nonetheless! Tomorrow is going to be more of the same, with Travis working from home with those weird hours, so I can look forward to another nap tomorrow afternoon.
So, despite me being sick and Travis being tired, Arthur has been going full bore all day today. That may have to do with the halloween candy he's been getting after every meal, but who knows. He has been pretending to sneeze with very loud "aaaah aaaah aaaah's" and then finishing off with an even louder "choooo!" It's pretty funny for the first 10 or so sneezes, but it does tend to go on for longer than that. The other day he was "sneezing" and in between would say "oh no, here it comes again!" His other favorite imaginary play item lately is fishing. Apparently under our kitchen table is stocked with piles of imaginary fish. He will go under there and give everyone fish so we can all pretend to eat it. Today he was expanding on the rules, you can only eat the red fish not the green fish, only eat the small fish not the big fish. He will also eat imaginary fish for every meal of the day but put real fish in front of him and its a big no go. Today he has been playing in a big quilt on the floor. It has been a car, a bus, and a choo choo. While it was a car he stopped and said "somefin wrong with the trunk, I better check it" So he opened his trunk pulled out something imaginary, sniffed it, and declared it to be a stinky shoe and the car was fit to drive again once he got rid of it. Ah how entertaining preschoolers can be!
