Football!
Today was a lot of fun, we went over to Lindsay's for a playdate. Arthur and Sienna played unbelievably well together. They were so good, and we were there for much longer than expected. Probably wore out our welcome with poor Lindsay being so close to her due date (tomorrow!) But it was great all around. The only tears were when I had to literally pull Arthur away from the trains so that we could go home. Highlights from the playdate included multiple preschooler conversations with Arthur saying things like "Can I show you my little baby" and then bringing Sienna over to see Felix. There was much ado about Sienna's train table and train tracks. We all know how much Arthur loves to tear things apart, and for a while that infuriated Sienna. Until Arthur built a ski jump out of it and they both laughed hysterically while launching cars and trains off of it onto the floor. Another hit of the day was when Arthur discovered a football while snooping around in Sienna's bedroom for fun toys. The thing was bigger than their heads but there was nothing to be done but play "football" This consisted of them throwing and bouncing the football back and forth to each other while shouting "Football!!" and "Score!!" They both managed to bonk the other in the nose with the football, but they were too busy playing to notice much. Another activity was synchronized spinning. Spinning is a favorite game for those two, but this time they added tickling each other to the spinning and of course fun was had by all. The kids actually entertained themselves so well that Lindsay and I had some time to really sit and chat. Felix was his smiley, happy self and it was a great day. Here are a couple pictures from today:
