Nothing quite warms your heart like when your baby first starts smiling at you just because you make him smile.

Those half formed baby smiles hit you right at your core. They are so, unbelievably sweet!
As usual, Totspot was a refuge for us. It was air conditioned and fully contained the kids. Very important considering Lindsay was at the end(ish) of her pregnancy with Zoey and I spent the majority of my time nursing Felix or holding him while he slept. This visit the giant blocks started out as a launch pad and later became a train ;)
Of course play dates at home and at the park were standard fare as well.
The train obsession was still going strong. Almost daily Arthur would make a "train" out of the toy storage bins…
We had a beautiful summer, though it seemed really hot. We spent a lot of time outside. It was actually kind of nerve wracking at first because it was impossible to keep Felix inside from 10am-4pm (the recommended way to keep babies from getting too much sun), as that wouldn't have been fair to Arthur, it was also way too hot to have him in long sleeves and pants all the time. It really was relieving once I decided that I was going to put baby sunscreen on him. Helped us have days like this:
Though we did spend a lot of time inside as well. It was just too hot some days to leave the air conditioning! Especially when Felix spent most of his day literally stuck to me like this:

Inside time was pretty fun though!
Especially after I picked up this little skateboard for Arthur. He loved it! Travis showed him a bunch of skateboarding videos and he was hooked. Not long afterward I would catch him building jumps and ramps for his skateboard. Thank goodness that thing never built up enough speed to do any damage! You could often find Arthur "fixing" his skateboard with his toy tools though. It was very serious business!
